I had a chance to review the list. I Find the list to be miss leading. Like most self-endulged film critics I know, they are stuck in the past too much. This list would better be described as top 1000 (influential or important) films of all time.
Simply becuase the Sex Pistols started Punk, doesn't mean they're the greatest Punk Band. It just means they are an important Part of History. Which is why I say, that this author couldn't defend most of these movies as being the best or top 1000 movies.
Instead of being stuck in "new is best", maybe you should simply see the movies.
