There have been few true revolutionary games in the 3D action genre. Wolfenstein 3D kicked things off, Doom added atmosphere, and Goldeneye 007 added stealth and strategy. There are also a number of evolutionary games, Quake, Duke Nukem Valve Software's Half-Life is a truly revolutionary game. While it undoubtedly borrows from many of the games mentioned above, it breaks new ground in many areas
